National Afro-American Museum

Wilberforce, Ohio

This gallery portrays Afro American life from the end of World War II throughout the Civil Rights Movement of the early 1960’s. Within the perimeter mural walls of this 5,000 square foot exhibition are vignettes and artifacts that recreate 1950’s migration, community life, family life, work/business, religion, and civil rights. A theatre with low relief architectural exterior facades presents a program that illustrates the significance of Afro-Americans’ influence in the world of music.
